The Blairstown Police Department may, at their discretion, provide fingerprinting services for employment purposes to residents of the township. For further information or to schedule an appointment please contact the police clerk during normal business hours at 908-362-7668. |

Speed Radar Enforcement |
| |
Township residents may request the Decatur Radar trailer on their street by submitting the Request for Speed Enforcement Form and submitting it in person during normal business hours at police headquarters. The deployment of the unit depends upon the demand in the specific area, existing speed survey data, driver safety, and other factors. Please note that completing the form does not guarantee that the unit will be deployed near your home. |

Vacation Property Checks |

The Blairstown Police Department will conduct, call volume permitting, property checks for residents who are away from their home for an extended period of time. This service must be requested by completing a Property Check Request Form and submitting it in person to an Officer or police clerk at police headquarters. In an effort to save you time the form may be completed electronically and then printed. |

Motor Vehicle Lockout Assistance |

The Blairstown Police Department is able to unlock most vehicles in the event that the keys become locked inside of a vehicle. The department is not able to unlock vehicles that are equipped with side curtain airbags due to officer safety concerns. To request this service contact police dispatch at 908-362-8266. |

Handicapped Plates and Placards |
| |
Temporary handicap placards can be obtained normal during business hours from the police clerk. Persons wishing to apply for a temporary handicap placard must bring a personal check or money order made out to "New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission" in the amount of $4.00 to police headquarters during normal business hours. Presentations & Demonstrations |

Members of the Blairstown Police Department are able to conduct presentations and demonstrations to members of the public, private organizations, businesses, and others. Presentations can be conducted on a variety of topics including Business Safety, Business Security, Neighborhood Watch, Gang Awareness, CPR & First Responder Certifications, Bloodborne Pathogens Certifications, and many, many more. Business Registration & Alarm Information |
| |
Per township ordinance §56-3 all alarm systems must be registered:
| § 56-3. Registration of alarm system. |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
A. No person shall install, operate or maintain any alarm system unless the alarm system has been registered with the Police Department. An alarm system shall be deemed registered at such time as a registration form supplied by the Police Department is completed as to all information requested therein. Among the information to be provided on the registration form is the following: |

|
|
|
|
|
|
(1) The name, address, telephone number of the owner, occupant, or user of the property upon which the alarm system is installed. |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
(2) The name, address, and telephone number of the installer of the system. |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
(3) The name, address, and telephone number of the maintainer of the system. |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
(5) A list of the names, addresses, and telephone numbers of person(s) to be contacted in the event of an alarm or in an emergency situation determined by the Police Department. |

|

|
|
(6) A detailed description and location of the alarmed premises. |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
B. No further renewal registration shall be required unless and until there has occurred any material change in the information previously submitted with respect to any alarm system in which event it shall be the duty of the user of the alarm system, within 10 days of such material change, to file a supplemental or revised registration containing accurate, current information. |

|
|
|
|
|
|
C. All pre-existing alarm systems shall comply with the registration requirements of this section within 60 days of the date of the final adoption of this article. |
